Art Car Parade 2018

Art Car Parade
Car 88
  • Friday, Apr 13, 4-4: 45 pm AIMS cafeteria: Art car organizing meeting..ALL parents and kids
who are planning to ride bikes/scooters or in the trailer should try to attend.  Logistics like
post-parade meet up will be discussed (likely AIG parking lot or off of Dunlavy St).
  • I will also be working from ~8-2: 45 pm Friday on the car should anyone want to come by.
    636 Cortlandt St.
  • Parents will NOT be riding in the trailer, so either meet up after the parade to collect your child, or ride your
bike along with the car.  If you are riding a bike/scooter/roller skates, please dress up or wear your AIMS
shirt. Ideally decorate your “vehicle” I have 3 rides behind bike options if anyone would like to borrow (one trailer, one 1-kid weehoo, one 2-kid weehoo).  Please coordinate with me and pick them up before parade
    any day this week.
  • Alicia’s cell: 848 228 6944.  By 1:30 pm Saturday it will be hard to reach me as I will be loading kids into the
trailer and getting ready to drive, but try…soliciting volunteers who will be at the parade to help as other
point people for texts from lost parents, so if you would like to be a point person please let me know.
  • We are car 88, parked on Allen Parkway down from Sabine (see the map from Principal Ballouli's newsletter).
I will have arrived by 11 am.  It is worth arriving early so you can walk to the parade route and see all the
    amazing cars.

ART CAR PARADE ROLLS AT 2 pm Saturday, Apr 14….please arrive by 1 pm if you are
participating. Bring WATER and FOOD.  It’s a long day.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed in even small ways.  Each person has made a difference in this
car.  Special thanks to Victor, Narjess, Lashanda, David, Daniela, Feryal, Todd, Duke, for decorating help…
could not have done this without you. Just as a plug to our teachers too, Maiara painted on all the Arabic IB
tenets by herself.  All of your kids made foam owls that are glued to the trailer.  This has been an amazing
school effort and supported fully by Principal Ballouli and Ms. Bass, Ms. Audi, Waleed and the PTO. Yay!
Finally…when you look at that owl on top of the car, remember all the seltzer water you had to drink to make
that!

Thank you
